Played a show today but gave my camera away
To a girl who’d just bounce her cares away

As I watched from onstage I knew right away
With arms flailing to beats
Nothing would be recorded today

Later we would drink our stress away
And tell each other truths we might never otherwise say

Curiosity sprung the words out of our mouths
But who knows if they were meant to be told

I bet she’s thinking
Now you know what this boy’s all about
So why feel bad about these selfish explanations
Now you know that you would gladly live without
All such extraneous information

Both passed out we’ve cleared our doubt
With two hours of pastime conversation

Necessary or not seems so irrelevant at this point cause
Truth be told maybe such info should just stay secret

And I’m not saying leave me out of the loop
But some shielding could be nice now and then

And I’m thinking
Now I know what this girl’s all about
So why feel bad about over-analyzing frustration
No I know that I would gladly shed all doubt
Of all such extraneous information

And now I know all your secrets
And we both know you know mine
And who knows what this could mean ‘cause
Meaning changes from what I’ve seen
And you seem to feel the same

Let’s leave where we go from here up to somebody else ‘cause
I mean control’s so overrated

You and I can be equal monarchs for now ‘cause
One another may one day be mutually outdated

And pessimism’s not usually how I roll
But just look at the time…

So please don’t go and feel bad about it
